Overview

English Voice Coach helps you practice English by recording, typing, or scanning text, then checking that text locally on your device after setup.

Data The App Processes

The app may process voice recordings you create during practice, text you type, text recognized from photos you choose or capture, corrections, explanations, natural versions, topics, review history, local app settings, selected local AI files, and download status for local AI files.

On-Device Processing

Practice audio, typed text, recognized photo text, corrections, topics, and review history are intended to stay on your device. The app uses local AI files for speech recognition, grammar help, and offline voice playback after setup is complete.

The app does not currently include account login, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, cloud transcription, cloud grammar checking, or cloud photo upload.

ML Kit Diagnostics

Practice from photo uses Google's bundled ML Kit text-recognition SDK. Image content and recognized text are processed on the device and are not sent to Google by this feature. Google states that ML Kit Android SDKs collect limited device and app information, a per-installation identifier, performance metrics, API configuration, input and output sizes, feature version, event types, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit and is not transferred to third parties.

Network Use

The app uses the internet to download or repair local AI files. Those downloads are fetched from the configured model host. The model host may receive normal web request information such as IP address, request time, requested file path, and user-agent as part of delivering the files.

The app should not upload your practice audio, typed text, recognized photo text, corrections, topics, or history unless you choose to send a generated-feedback report or a future cloud feature is added and disclosed in an updated policy.

Generated Feedback Reports

If you choose to report generated feedback, the report may include your sentence, the generated correction, explanation, issue details, selected reason, optional note, input source, topic label, and model information. The report path is not designed to send your audio recording or source photo. Reports are used to review offensive, unsafe, private, or clearly wrong generated feedback.

The production reporting flow lets you review the report inside English Voice Coach. Nothing is transmitted until you explicitly tap Send. The app then sends the report over HTTPS to the English Voice Coach endpoint on this domain without opening another app. The endpoint validates the report and uses Cloudflare Email Service to deliver it to support@barbutsa.com. The report does not include your email address.

Cloudflare processes the HTTPS request and normal network metadata as a service provider. The endpoint uses a short-lived SHA-256 fingerprint derived from request metadata to limit automated abuse; application code does not include raw IP addresses or the fingerprint in the support email and does not keep a report database. A copy of each report you create remains on your device. Reports received by support are retained for no more than 90 days unless needed longer to resolve an active safety, security, legal, or support issue.

Local AI Files

Offline setup may download Whisper base.en for speech recognition, Gemma 4 E2B LiteRT-LM for grammar assistance, and a Sherpa-ONNX Kokoro English voice archive for offline voice playback. The download is about 3.1 GB. Setup asks for about 4.5 GB of free space because it also needs about 1.4 GB of temporary working room, which is released when setup finishes. The files themselves keep about 3.1 GB. Downloads are validated before use.

Device Permissions

The app may request microphone access for voice practice and repeat sessions, camera access when you choose to scan text for practice, selected-image access through the system picker when you choose an existing image that contains text to practice, and internet access to download local AI files.

Local Storage And Deletion

The app stores downloaded AI files, generated speech files, topics, practice history, and settings in app-specific storage on your device. You can remove downloaded files, generated speech files, topics, practice history, and settings from Settings by using the local data removal action. Uninstalling the app may also remove app-specific local storage according to Android behavior.

To request earlier deletion of a feedback report, contact support@barbutsa.com and provide the report ID shown by the app. There is no app account to delete.

Children

This app is not directed to children. If the app is later distributed for children, this policy and the store age/content rating must be updated before that distribution.
